BRAINYAC (Brain Research Apprenticeships in New York at Columbia)

Columbia’s Zuckerman Institute BRAINYAC program connects high school students with scientists for intensive summer lab internships. Each student is matched with a Columbia neuroscientist mentor who guides them through a research project.

Eligibility:

• 10th or 11th grade student
• Must live in New York City (preference for upper Manhattan and the South Bronx)
• Must be enrolled in a BRAINYAC partner program: S-PREP, BioBus, Lang Youth Medical, Columbia Secondary School, or Double Discovery Center

How to apply: applications for BRAINYAC 2027 are open until October 28, 2026 at 11:59 PM, and are distributed through partner programs. Check with your partner program for an application.
